Heather Ota is an American artist who lives and works in Seattle. Her abstract paintings explore concepts that seek to inspire reflection on how space, atmosphere, and emotion shape identity. Formerly trained in painting and drawing, she received her BFA from Syracuse University and AA from Simon’s Rock of Bard College. She is the recipient of the Hirum Gee Award of Excellence and a Fellowship from Syracuse University. Ota’s work resides in collections nationwide including the New Hampshire Historical Society.
